LimeCrime Lipsticks!! =^.^=

Heya Kittens :))

Sooooo I finally got some LimeCrime Lippiess yayyyyy <3 I've been lusting after these for a fair while now so when I saw them on Magpie Sparkles sale on her blog (http://magpiesparkles.tumblr.com/) I had to snap them up, they were such a bargain! I ended up getting 6. Put it this way, in the UK these Lippies are £14 each not counting shipping depending on where you get them. On her blog sale some of them were £5 and a few were £7, thats just under half the price! Now some of them were a little damaged, but not to the point where they are breaking in half or unusable, just little scuffs on the sides of the Lipstick.

The first thing about these that you notice is the goooorgeous packaging, the case is a lovely purpley pink colour and has the LimeCrime logo on the front and pretty Unicorn all surrounded by little stars on the back in a rainbow holographic silver writing, soooooo cute!! I love nice little touches like that :) The packaging is probably around the same size as a MAC lipstick I think. These definitely stand out in my Lippie drawer! Haha :D

The shades I got (shown in order below) were:
Styletto, Cosmopop, Great Pink Planet, D'Lilac, Countessa Fluorescent & Airbourne Unicorn
I'll go into more detail about each one under the appropriate swatch:

I swatched them on my skin first:

From left to right
Row 1: Airbourne Unicorn, Countessa Fluorescent, D'Lilac.
Row 2: Great Pink Planet, Cosmopop, Styletto

I then wore each lipstick to give you a better idea of how they look on the lips. I love the formula of these lippies, they are very creamy and moisturising, a lot of lipsticks tend to dry my lips out very quickly which I hate, but these are awesome and didn't cause me any problems at all! They apply very well too, and depending on the amount of vibrancy you want, you can either apply a light layer for just a pop of colour or apply a few layers to make the colours really stand out. The other thing is they have a light glossy look to them which I really like, but if your more of a matte fan you can just blot your lips to get rid of some of the shinyness :)

This is Airbourne Unicorn. Its a lovely purpley pink colour thats pretty much the same shade as the outer packaging, and I think may have been the inspiration for the packaging or vice versa. I liked this one a lot, I have no other shades like this one and its a lovely change from either standard pink or purple colours as I had nothing inbetween. Its definitely one of my favs outta the ones I got, along with the next shade...

This is Countessa Fluorescent, an awesome luminous not quite fuschia pink, this one actually looks a tad brighter on than in the picture, I've been after a pink like this forever, so I think out of all of these this one is my favourite one :) Such a brilliant bright colour, loves it <3

Next up is D'Lilac this is one of the more 'unique' shades in the LimeCrime range, its a very pale lilac colour which really does look lovely, it photographs more of a pink on my camera but is definitely more close to the colour of the actual product in the container and the swatch of it one my skin above, but if your not a pastel fan then this one might not be for you but never the less it really is a cool colour *thumbs up* ^.6

Next is Great Pink Planet, another of the colours I've been stalking hehe. I'm a big fan of pastely colours, they are just so darn pretty, and this is no exception! Its a very cotton candy pink for sure

Cosmopop is a very interesting one, its inbetween a kind of orange and peachy/coraly colour. This one looks scary in the container but I was really surprised how it looked on the lips. It was one of those colours I thought 'I'm either guna love it or hate it'....turns out I love it! I like this one a lot, and cuz my lips are pretty pink naturally it turns a lovely peachy colour when rubbed in with my finger a bit.

And then came Styletto! :D I was very gutted to find that when I had a sort out of my makeup collection the only black lipstick I had, had completely dried out and gone all flakey in the tube...ewwww! But thats what ya get for buying a cheap one from since you were 16 then forgetting about it...whoops :P. So when I saw this on the blog sale I had to get it, thing I love about black is the fact its not just matte, same as the other shades and it glides on :) Only thing with me and black lippy is I ALWAYS end up making a mess and having to clean up the edges with a cotton bud!

Now onto the ONLY negative I have about these products...
Pretty much every one I have has got some sort of mark either on the side of the lipstick where it catches the tube inside the container as its being twisted up, as most of them seem to not be aligned dead center, or around the bottom of the product just above where it goes into the plastic that holds it in place. This could be problematic, especially the 2nd option as I've read around and they either break of at this point, or you end up with a chunk missing out of the side : / Cosmopop was the one with the most damage in the ones I got which is probably why they were so cheap, and because they had a previous owner and she said underneath that they were damaged in transit, so that might account for why mine were a lil beaten up, but to a dealable degree. Either that or its a slight manufacturers fault in the way they are made. It doesn't bug me so much but when you've payed that much for a lippy when you get them brand new, I can understand why it might bug people.... BUT other than that these are very awesome products, and I'll definitely be getting the other 4 shades in the future. The ones I don't have are:

Centrafuschia- A really bright fuschia pink colour.
My Beauitful Rocket- A luminous bright orange colour.
No She Didn't- A really unique 'bubble-gum blue', I reallyyyyyyy want this one!
Retrofuturist- A bright true red shade, this will be the last one I purchase I think if I decide to get it at all, I have too many red shades because I went through a stage where it was all I ever wore! haha

If you wanna check these out you can get them from the official Limecrime site which I think ships worldwide at $16 a piece http://www.limecrimemakeup.com/categories/Lips/
Or if you live in the UK and prefer to deal in £s, you can get them at SPACE.NK for £14 http://www.limecrimemakeup.com/categories/Lips/

Be sure to check out their other products too! They have really pretty looking eyeshadows which I may have to invest in too at some point!

Well thats about it :) Hope it was informative to you guys!

GlamourDoll Eyes Hallowe'en Set 2 Swatches

As promised I'm posting the swatches of Set 2 of the GlamourDoll Eyes Hallowe'en eyeshadows. You can find my swatches of Set 1 here:

I gotta say outta the two sets I think this one is my favourite, I love orange and rusty coloured shadows, and the orange shade named Infectious is seriously to die for. I tried 3 of these shadows in a look today and wow!
When I saw there were Hallowe'en sets coming up on glamourdolleyes.com I HAD to get them. Not only are the shades gorgeous but Hallowe'en is by far my favourite holiday, I love all things spooky and supernatural, and it gives you an excuse to go crazy with your costumes and make up which is always fun! :P haha.

The names of the shadows in this set are Undead, Infectious, Teenage Witch and Satan's Sheets and I gotta say I love them all such pretty colours! As with the last post I took pictures of the pigments in the pots both with and without flash, and did the same for a dry swatch of the shadows, then finally applied them on top of  Benefit's F Y Eye primer. I'll give as much detail to the description of the colours below :D

Here's the picture of the full set and the awesome lil baggie they come in

The 1st shadow is named Undead, its a beautiful rusty burgandy coloured shadow with a kind of reddish dark pink shimmer too it, and has a slightly black undertone as you'll see in the swatches. These sort of colours are my favs and you don't find many colours like this one! Its amazing and these pictures soooo don't do it justice.

When I swatched this one dry it was more of a blackened red colour with a red shimmer to it that my camera didn't wanna pick up even with the soft flash.

But then on top of the primer it really made the burgandy and red pop even without the flash, it really is such a great colour, I think the Zombie Date Night eyelight would look soooo pretty as a liner on top of this shadow. Note to Self: Try this out!

Next was Infectious, I'm a Hugeeeeee fan of orange shadows, there is just something I can't describe that makes me love them, and this one is no exception! Its so gorgeous its unreal. Its super sparkly as you can see in the pictures below and has lil flecks of gold glitter in it.

Here's what it looks like in the pot:

And the Dry Swatches, its more goldy colored without a primer:

But then on top of primer the orange is bought out more and has a slight coppery tinge to it:

The next shadow was Teenage Witch which is a lovely light khaki green colour with gold and I think a few green sparkles thrown in there too :) I don't really own any colours like this one, so I was really happy to get this one its awesomeness ^^

It photographed kinda grey looking on my camera, but its a lot more khaki coloured in real life, and you can see the sparkles a lot better:

Without primer I think this one would be light enough to put over darker green matte shadows to add a lovely gold coloured sparkle to them, especially for flash photography:

Here's what it looks like over a primer, definitely more true to life, especially with a soft flash on, the bottom picture is pretty much spot on what the shadow looks like in daylight in the pot :)

And finally was the shadow Satan's Sheets, such an awesome highlight colour! Its a sort of pearly white but with amazing pink sparkles in it, I definitely didn't have a shade like this one in my collection! I think this one should be in the permanent line of GDE Shadows, its that pretty!

My camera didn't really pick the sparkles up with or without the flash unfortunately, but in natural light on your skin they are definiately there!

Here's the dry swatches for you to see looks more goldy coloured on my skin, and with a thin layer I think it'd be light enough to use as a highlighter on my face too, would look super pretty!

And here's the swatches on top of primer, makes it a lot more shimmery having something underneath for all the sparkles to stick to:

And there ya have it :) Like I said at the start this set is definitely my favourite of the two sets, but I'd still recommend getting both as they are Limited Editions and won't be around forever. And for anyone that is interested, I had a play around with Undead, Infectious, Satan's Sheets and Graveyard from the first set, and heres what I came up with:

Lemmie know what ya think :)

GlamourDoll Eyes Hallowe'en Set 1 Swatches

So I was soooooooo excited to receive these the other day in the post, there were some released the day before my birthday so as I didn't get much present wise I decided to treat myself to these, the other Hallowe'en Set and 2 other collections of shadows (which I'll also upload swatches of soon).
This is the first time I've ever ordered from GlamourDoll Eyes (GDE) and I've gotta say I'm one extremely happy customer, even though shipping for me was kinda expensive which is THE only downfall but well worth it for the quality of the shadows and also the packaging which is extremely pretty too :) They pretty much shipped the next day which was awesome, they took 2 weeks to get to me which might seem like a long time, but bear in mind I live in the UK and it takes time to process stuff through customs. I had to pay an extra fee for the other package I ordered but I'll go into more detail about that when I upload swatches of the other collections I got :).
The other awesome thing about GDE is that all the eyeshadows are handmade by Vee (Vanessa) herself, she's a one woman show and her customer service is excellent considering how busy she must be :) Shes such a great person and I admire her a lot for all her hard work, so Vee if you read this your awesomeeeeeee! :)

Right now its Swatch Time! ^^;

Below is the picture of the complete set, there are 3 shadows and what Vee calls an eyelight, which is basically just a really fine mix of cosmetic glitter that you can use to add a lil sparkle to your make up or could be used as glitter liner. The sets come in these really cute baggies that are black mesh with little gold stars all over as you can see in the picture :) I think that's such a cute little added detail that makes me fall in love with these sets even more! So Cute! :)

The first shadow is called Graveyard, its an awesome matte dark grey that verges almost on black colour, perfect if you don't want to go to dark when blending it with other shadows, or to add an edge to a smokey eye look. This one applied really well even without eyeshadow primer, which is shown in the picture underneath this one. I then did a swatch on top of primer which made the colour more intense. Very happy with this one as I don't really own many matte colours.

Picture of Graveyard in the pot :)

Swatches of Graveyard without Primer in the first picture, and with Primer in the second:

Next was the Zombie Date Night eyelight. This is absolutely gorgeous! Its a mix of black, red, orange and I think a tiny bit of green? Definately very Hallowee'eny! In daylight it looks quite dark in the pot, but when I took a picture with the flash on my camera.....o  m  g so pretty I am offically in Love! :) Haha. To make it stick to my skin for the swatches I just pressed it on top of a thickish layer of primer, but for use on your eyes I'd recommend using a thin layer of lash glue or an old glitter eyeliner of some sort as a base that is similar coloured to help the glitter stick to your lids :)

Here's a picture of it in the pot without, and with flash:

And here's a picture of the swatches on top of the primer, first without, then with the flash, even though these pictures don't really do it justice:

The next shadow is Bruised! another very gorgeous colour, its a grayish lavender colour with blue and pink sparkles in it. On top of primer the purple is really intensified which makes the sparkles in this one stand out a lot more, but without primer this ones definately light enough to use as a highlighter if your using blues or purples for a look, or to add on top of another colour to add a bit of sparkle. I definately want to see what this looks like on top of Graveyard, I imagine it'd look extremely pretty!

Heres a picture of it in the pot again without flash and also with flash, very sparkly this one! :)

Then here's the dry swatches without and with flash to show how light it is without a base for use as maybe a highlighter:

 And then with primer:

And finally here's FrankenGlamour, such a lovely light lime green with gold sparkles, which when blended out  a little has a gold sheen on top of the green which is awesome! Green is my fav colour so this one is definately right up my alley! Love it!

Here's a pictures in the pot without and with flash:

Then the dry swatches:

And finally on top of primer :) :

These are sooooo gorgeous its unreal, can't wait to have more of a play with them & see what I can come up with ^^;  I will post the swatches of Set 2 of the GlamourDoll Eyes Hallowe'en set later on today, so keep your eyes peeled. I actually did my make up with the 2nd set and Graveyard from this set, so I'll put pics of that up as well for anyone that wants to see what I did :))

Oh and for anyone that was interested the primer I used was Benefit's F Y Eye eyeshadow primer, I don't really like this primer as it doesn't work well for me on my eyelids, but for swatch purposes its fine :)  (saves wasting my Urban Decay Primer Potion). So from now on any swatches I do will be using F Y Eye just so you know.

Remember keep your eyes peeled for Set 2 later on tonight
