W7 Neon & 5 Piece Eyeshadow boxes

Heya!! Sorry for the lack of blogging activity recently, we had a spell of really bad wind that ripped the wire for the internet out and had to wait for the telephone company to come fix it, but I've got tonnes of things to upload over the next week or so, so hopefully I'll make up for the absense :)

So lets crack on : P
I was looking for little stocking fillers for a friend and my Mom, as I've already bought their main pressies,  when I came across these little W7 palettes in T J Hughes and at £1.99 I couldn't pass them up so I bought myself one of each too :)  There's the Neon Eye Box and the 5 Piece Eye Shadow Box. The Neon one contains 5 really vibrant shadows, an Orange, Yellow, Lime Green, Pink and Blue. There were 2 varietys of these but the only difference was the packaging on one was green and the other yellow. Heres some pictures & swatches I took of both of the palettes.....

Here's what the two I bought for myself look like:

The shadows in both are imprinted with this little smiley face which I think is really cute  :D They come with a double ended sponge applicator, but if you prefer to use brushes then you can just take them out but if your buying for someone who doesn't own any then this is perfect. There is a decent sized mirror too and these are small enough to fit in your handbag for touch ups throughout the day, and they aren't really heavy either and pretty versatile with the 5 different shades so you can mix it up a bit to change your look. This one below is perfect for anyone who loves a lot of colour.

The Orange shade is a lovely dark coral colour with a slight pink tone to it. The Yellow is a lovely bright sunny yellow. The green is more lime green in the pan but is a bit more of a greeny yellow on the skin. The pink is a bright Fuschia pink, and the Blue is a cornflower toned blue verging almost on purple side. All very pretty colours.

Here's the swatches on top of a base in natural light:

Some of the shadows you have to pat on rather than sweeping onto the lids like the blue for example, but they are pretty pigmented and go on relatively smoothly. As you can see from the picture they really are bright colours. These ones are all matte finishes.

Below are the swatches with the flash on:

I can't wait to do some looks with these and see how well they blend :)

Next up is the 5 Piece Eye Shadow Box:

I've gotta say I really love the colours in this one and they would look gorgeous on any skin tone. The shades are really pretty, especially the middle one, its a lovely golden olive shade with what looks like green, red and golden shimmer particles in it. The brown shade shown first in the picture above seems to have the same sort of shimmer in it but but not as much as the olive one. The next shade is a kind of greyed out light golden shade which is really pretty. To the right of the olive shade is a Shimmery gold colour and lastly is a Bronze Gold shade. These didn't photograph to well but were more pigmented on my skin than the pictures show. Below is the picture of the swatches in natural light:

And the swatches with the flash on :) :

Overall I'm glad I picked these up, they are such cute little palettes with awesome shades in them, I'll update this post when I've tested them out a bit. You can find these palettes on Ebay if there isn't a T J Hughes where you live or pop in store and see if they have them :)

One last thing I wanna mention is that T J Hughes is really good for makeup bargains, I hadn't really looked at the makeup in the store before as its not really a shop I visit often so I was quite suprised to find they sell a lot of decent discounted products from well known brands such as Rimmel, Urban Decay, Maybelline etc. I picked up some of the Urban Decay Deluxe Eyeshadows in Heat & Sting, Vinyl Lipstick and a Gash Liquid Eyeliner. They only sell a few shades of all the different brands but they are really good prices I only payed £3.99
for each of the Urban Decay products I bought when they are usually £14! :) I'll upload pictures and swatches etc soon.

More post coming soon!
